We are delighted and excited to report that VF have been selected to deliver our dynamic cross curricular project State of Emergency through the GLOW network.
The project, selected by Glow Co-Create panel, will take an in-depth look into the realities and decisions that face us when engaging in war. A fictitious country will be created and pupils will be encouraged to explore all aspects and implications of war, from politics to economics, social issues to geography, across their subjects responding directly to the Curriculum for Excellence.
Learning will be encouraged through a series of online ‘webisodes', recorded theatrical dialogue which the students can access in the classroom and respond to via the interactive Glow network, there will also be a chance for them to speak directly to the characters and gain a real understanding of all the conflicting points of view.
The BBC are partnering this project and a rare chance for students to gain access to the BBC archives will provide some powerful source material and the opportunity to learn about war reporting and the skill of presenting stories impartially.
We are really excited about working with the Glow network as it provides limitless opportunity to take this ground breaking project directly into the classroom and opens up a real time dialogue between Visible Fictions, actors, pupils and teachers.

This project has been funded through the Glow Go Create Project, a partnership between Learning and Teaching Scotland and the Scottish Arts Council.
