11th - 13th October, The Place Theatre Complex, Kilmarnock
Take 3 dynamic groups of young people, mix together with theatre artists and a liberal measure of imagination, pour into the Kilmarnock Palace, stand back and wait for the explosion!
In partnership with East Ayrshire Council, Visible Fictions facilitate East Ayrshire Youth Theatre. Young people aged 8 to 18 working in Cumnock Town Hall and The Kilmarnock Palace take part in weekly theatre workshops. This October the Youth Theatre takes over The Palace for three days of theatrical experimentation. Emerging professional artists will have the opportunity to showcase up and coming work, stimulating discussion and sharing ideas with the young people. Test will run from 11th – 13th October.
Cumnock : Our door. 12th Oct @ 7.30pm
Inside our town there are memories.
Inside our community there are people.
Inside our street there are stories.
Inside our door there is a home.
Come knock our door.
Cumnock … our home.
Walk down the street. Chat to a stranger. Knock on a door. Come on in and make yourself at home. Help us turn a place into somewhere that feels like home, share a story, a memory, a cup of tea and a biscuit. You know we’d love to have you. Welcome to the world we’ve created … take off your shoes though.
Kilmarnock: 12 -14: The Borington Lectures. 13th Oct @ 7.30pm
Is laughter really infectious? What will you do when the kids start grinning?
Don't worry, we've got the answers.
Stay sensible, stay safe and pay attention, the lecture is about to start.
Kilmarnock: 15-18 : Tourist Trap. 11th Oct @ 7.30pm
With tourists come money and this town needs money, but how do you get them to come?
Sunshine?
Golden sandy beaches?
Crystal clear water?
We may not have that here, but we do have something better . . .
