Visible Fictions is one of the UK's leading theatre companies for young people. By working with only the finest theatrical talent to produce work that is innovative, memorable and relevant to its audience, Visible Fictions has built up an international reputation for creating engaging and powerful theatre.
In the past the Company has toured across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Canada and the USA. It has visited schools, theatres and festivals with new plays, established classic texts and innovative adaptations.
Visible Fictions was the first Scottish theatre company to be invited to perform on Broadway and it has pioneered international collaborative productions working alongside The Seattle Children's Theatre and The Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles to create work.
Telling a good story has always been the Company's aim and being able to draw upon all the magic that theatre has to offer in order to tell that story. The Company believes in the power of story telling. Through the stories it tells, it aims to hold up a mirror to a young person¹s world, whilst at the same time allowing them to discover challenging new ones.
Visible Fictions is committed to the development of and commission of new writing. We are currently engaged on a three-year new writing scheme which allows professional who has never written for young audiences, to actively engage with young people over a regular period of time and use this unique experience to produce plays specifically written for them. The Company's productions, where appropriate, are also fully supported by education and outreach work.
"Visible Fictions Theatre Company comes with such a blazing reputation that it¹s hard to ignore."
